We are excited to announce that Remedy Healthcare will be partnering with Australia’s largest private hospital company, Ramsay Health Care, in an exciting joint venture that provides coordinated care before, during and after a patient’s hospitalisation.
This new company, known as Ramsay Connect, brings together Remedy Healthcare and Ramsay Health Plus and will provide services in the home that would otherwise be provided in hospital to take pressure off the hospital system.
Ramsay Health Plus is an ambulatory, hospital-based allied health service, providing evidence-based treatment and preventative health solutions for patients with a wide range of health and complex medical conditions.
Mike Hutton-Squire, Executive General Manager of Remedy Healthcare, said Remedy has long advocated for these sorts of partnerships, where care is integrated across service providers to ensure customers get the right care in the right setting.
“This is one of the founding principles of Remedy and this opportunity recognises that if we are to truly improve customer outcomes, providers need to work together.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Ramsay on this venture. The opportunity allows us to offer services in keeping with our values of patient-centred and evidence-based care, in a setting of choice for our customers.
“Over the past 12 years we have focused on building strong relationships with funders and hospitals, ensuring members are well cared for both physically, mentally and through our behavioural therapy programs. This opportunity allows us to address one of the key challenges in a fragmented healthcare industry, ensuring the transition between hospital and home is effective and safety is maintained.
“Focusing on what is best for our customer and having them involved in the care decisions being made is critical to the sustainability of the healthcare system.”
