  • How do I book a telehealth session?

    For physiotherapy or dietetics telehealth services, you can either book by clicking here or call us on 1800 102 112 from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. You can also email us at remedy@remedyhealthcare.com.au.

  • What is telehealth?

    Telehealth is an online video or telephone consultation with the health professional you choose. It’s similar to a face-to-face consultation but will be delivered remotely. The physiotherapist will assess your progress, watch you walking and performing your exercises and give you all the advice and support you need to manage your condition.

    Our telehealth appointments last for 40 minutes for an initial assessment and 20 minutes for a standard consultation.

  • How does telehealth work?

    We deliver our telehealth sessions through a tele and video conferencing platform called Coviu. It’s secure, designed especially for these types of services and easy to use.

    Once you’ve booked your appointment, we’ll email you a link with instructions on how to start the session. You don’t need to worry though, it’s pretty straightforward.

  • Do you treat people with acute back and neck pain or sporting injuries?

    Inner city professionals are our niche. This means we treat corporate cowboys with more sedentary injuries, including acute onset back and neck pain, as well as weekend warriors suffering from a sport related complaint.

  • What equipment and software do I need?

    We’ll confirm these details when you book your session, but here’s what you need:

    • A device with camera and microphone, ideally a laptop or tablet
    • Wi-Fi connection
    • Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox as your browser
    • A phone so we can call if we’re having problems connecting
  • What if my internet drops out during the session?

    If your internet drops out, don’t worry, your practitioner will talk you through possible ways of fixing it. If these don’t work, we’ll simply call you on the phone.

  • How much does a telehealth session cost and how do I pay?

    Our introductory pricing for telehealth physiotherapy and dietetics sessions gives you the chance to see if telehealth appointments work for you.

    Initial assessment – $69 (40 minutes)

    Standard consultation – $69 (20 minutes)

    This pricing will be fixed until at least 30 September 2020, to help you budget between now and then.

    After your consultation, our team will call to arrange payment with a credit or debit card. We’ll then email you a receipt so you can make your insurance claim.

  • Can a friend or family member be with me during the session?

    Yes, you can bring along a family member or friend to your session. In particular, your support person can help position the camera to help you get the most out of your session.

  • Can I book in with my usual practitioner?

    We hope so! If your usual practitioner is trained in delivering telehealth services, you’ll be able to book an appointment with them.

  • What about podiatry, myotherapy and massage therapy?

    Unfortunately, currently, we’re unable to offer podiatry, myotherapy or massage therapy through telehealth.

  • Do I need a referral for a telehealth appointment?

    You’ll only need a referral if you’re going to claim a Medicare rebate for your appointment using a GP Management Plan (GPMP).

    Otherwise, you can simply book an appointment and either claim through your private health insurance extras or pay for the session yourself.

  • Can I use my private health insurance extras?

    Yes, you can, if you have eligible cover. Private health insurance rebates still apply, but HICAPS is not available, so you’ll need to make a claim with your insurer after your session.

  • Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

    Yes, if you have a referral and a GP Management Plan (GPMP) from your GP. If you’re not sure how this works, call us on 1800 102 112.

  • How should I prepare for my telehealth appointment?

    These are our recommendations:

    • We will let you know what equipment and set up you’ll require when we book you in for your session
    • Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.
    • Set up your device so the camera faces you
    • Make sure there’s light in the room and try to keep noise from the rest of the house to a minimum.
  • Can I still go to a clinic?

    Our clinics in the Melbourne CBD and Carlton are temporarily closed because of the health and safety risks posed by COVID-19. However, telehealth may still give you the essential care you need until we’re able to re-open.

  • What services are you still offering face-to-face?

    We’re still delivering in-home services for clients. These include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and podiatry.

    We deliver services according to strict COVID-19 guidelines including pre-treatment screening, employee education and use of personal protective equipment where necessary and in accordance with our policies.
