It comes down to clinical governance.
At Remedy Healthcare, everything we do is underpinned by clinical governance. We are accredited by the Australian Council for Healthcare Standards, demonstrating clinical governance protocols and clinical expertise.
So, what is clinical governance and what does it mean for you? We asked Remedy’s Clinical Director Dr Jeannie Yoo to explain.
“Clinical governance is about ensuring that what Remedy does is led from a clinical perspective to ensure we deliver high quality, safe and effective care,” said Dr Yoo.
“Our people, processes and systems are always focused on supporting that.”
In practice, this means the way in which Remedy goes about developing new programs and setting up new services is with a strong focus on establishing something that is safe, high quality and effective – in other words, it achieves the experiences and outcomes that people would like to have.
What does clinical governance look like?
“Clinical governance can be thought of as a robust structure through which we have the right people, processes and systems to support high quality, safe, clinical care,” said Dr Yoo.
Our people are at the core. Remedy has multiple clinical disciplines, including allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and nurses.
“We then have senior clinicians within all of those disciplines, who can support the delivery of high quality, safe care through coaching, training and peer-to-peer supervision,” said Dr Yoo.
Clinical governance underpins the way Remedy recruits clinicians too.
“We look for clinicians who have the right kind of expertise, experience and qualifications. Our senior clinicians from those disciplines are able to inform that process,” she said.
Everything Remedy does is human centric. We work closely with our customers to understand what value means to them and co-design how we get there. Our services are all evaluated and overseen by our Clinical Director Dr Yoo and the clinical governance team.
“We’re serious about delivering better outcomes for people. We want to prove what we do works, do it safely and do it well,” said Dr Yoo.
“We continuously report and measure processes, experiences and outcomes that matter to our clients and funders. We gather data and feedback to help us reflect and improve on what we do and how we deliver value, every day.”
The value of clinical governance is undeniable – we see it every day in every service we deliver. That’s why we have been investing in clinical governance for years, and we will continue to do so.
